The Poetry

Roberta was in a never ending process of creating and expressing what she felt and saw around her. Many people are aware of her published works or have attended some of her public speaking engagements, but not many people are aware that Roberta loved reading and writing poetry. Here are a few samples of her original poems.

Pondering Catherine's Death: Transplanted
When seeds
In my seedbed
Sprout & grow
There comes
A time
When they
Must be transplanted
And so
With us -
Earth is our
Seed bed
Nothing more
And we grow here
Only
Until it’s time to be
Transplanted.

Note: This poem was written by RKD when friend, author, editor and publisher Catherine Marshall passed away.
